The Hands Behind Hedgepig and Honey
(and the hooves, paws and feet too!)
There’s a quiet rhythm to things here. I work from a small studio, making each piece by hand, carefully and thoughtfully.
Hedgepig and Honey is shaped not just by my hands, but by the life around me—by muddy boots at the door, changing seasons, and the presence of wildlife and our animals who are never too far away. It’s a slower way of working, where usefulness and beauty sit side by side.
Each printed piece is made to be part of daily life - handled, worn, washed and used - growing softer and more familiar over time.
I live in the beautiful North Wessex Downs with my husband, Steve, and an assortment of animals including chickens, bees, a pony, a dog and not forgetting my studio cat, Sid Grayson.
We have a slow rural lifestyle which is reflected in everything that I make for Hedgepig and Honey.
As well as wood block printing, and making candles I enjoy a variety of traditional crafts including spinning wool, knitting and crochet.
I am a beekeeper but prefer not to sell my honey. However, I am very happy to barter or gift it!
I am lucky to have my studio in the small barn in the garden of our pretty basic agricultural workers cottage. The pay-off for the lack of amenities is that we get to live our dream with our little menagerie.
